How should I prepare for our meeting?

Unless I ask otherwise, there will be nothing to prepare for. Just show up at your scheduled time ready to chat!

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

No problem; just refer back to your confirmation email to reschedule or cancel the appointment. If you lost the email, feel free to contact me.

What if I have trouble accessing the Zoom call?

Feel free to email me during our meeting time if you encounter issues with Zoom, and we will try solve the issue together. If we cannot solve it, we can chat over the phone.

Can I set up recurring meetings with Professor Rocca?

Of course! I would be happy to touch base as often as you would like. For example, one option would be to schedule either weekly or bi-weekly meetings over the course of an entire semester or quarter. Since we would be meeting more often, my advice would be to utilize the 30 minute sessions for the recurring meetings.

Can parents attend Professor Rocca’s office hours?

My preference would be to meet with students alone, since this is best way for me to hear honest answers and for us to build the bonds of trust so critical to mentorship. Plus, one of my goals is to help students feel more comfortable visiting their professors. Simulating a typical visit to office hours is an important step in that process. That said, I would be happy to include parents if both the students and I feel it is necessary. In addition, I would be happy to chat with parents at a separate time.

What if I cannot find a time that works for me through the online scheduling tool?
