My approach

I am a professor at a Carnegie R1 research university with twenty years of experience mentoring, advising, and teaching students at all levels of their college education, from first-year freshman to Ph.D. candidates. The best part of being a professor is helping students discover their passion. My approach is student-centered in the sense that I make every effort to listen to, understand, and respect students’ goals and interests in an environment built on mutual trust. My objective is to help students find the support they need so that they can retain the hope and optimism they deserve in college.
